In general in the Thoroughbred world, the term "syndicate" refers to multiple people owning a stake in one or multiple horses. This group of people is responsible for the bills but also enjoy the benefits of ownership. Syndicates have gained popularity because they allow their participants to spread out the risks and costs associated with Thoroughbred horse racing while still acting as an owner.
For the first Racing Club syndicate, Fasig-Tipton went to its own backyard, central Kentucky. Composed primarily of people living in Lexington and Louisville, along with a few from other areas, the FTRC Kentucky 2009 Club is an exciting launch point for Fasig-Tipton and the Racing Club. The first syndicate is now closed but the Racing Club will launch new syndicates throughout the year.
